The Midland pub is beautifully located on the banks of the river Derwent, just a short walk from Matlock Bath train station. It offers a limited selection of hand-pumped real ales. The inside is pleasant enough, the outside stylish and inviting. You can drink and eat by the river. It is larger than some other pubs on the "river front" along the main road in this small town. The bartender wasn't exactly friendly when I visited, but then you'll normally have pretty minimal exchange with him. It is certainly a likeable option.

Nice pub, lovely riverside setting .. If you are lucky enough to have good weather, and don't mind hoards of leather clad bikers, then go in and enjoy a pint .. Never tried the food, so cannot comment on that ..
